We drove up along highway 49 and found a nice spot between the crowds to shoot the first stage of the Tour of California.
4 riders were nice enough to break away from the pack and give us a practice session before the main pack. The breakaway was about 5 minute when they went by where we but the main pack was closing and caught them before the finish.
Here is the main peloton:
And a close up of a single rider as the packed streaked by.
Finally today was a historic occasion for my trusty D70.  It shot it’s 10,000 photo.  While I have no proof of  it since my other camera are all film cameras, this is probably the 3rd camera I’ve owned that has clicked past 10,000.
Great photos. How did you get the riders names?
Nice photos.
I wish I could say I am just a huge biking fan and the names were obvious to me….but you already know how bad I am with names even for folks I talk to everyday so instead it took a bit of research. Using links from the official Tour website to each of the individual teams I was able then to just go through the dozen or so riders for each team.
